Both bands play passionate, searing hardcore. Iscariote are a newer outfit who's tracks on here are a follow-up to their s/t 7" which came out on Moliare/Pure Pain Sugar. If you were fortunate to pick that gem up, you know what you're in store for. That 7" rips, but when I received the material for this split, I was floored. Iscariote's songs explode forth in the vein of a more straightforward Botch, and their sound his tightened up and focused like a laser beam. My band was supposed to share a bill with these guys on a recent tour. How fucking pissed am I that the show was resheduled with a different bill elsewhere? Envy bring forth 2 triumphant epics of their trademark sound that ebb and sway with passion and purpose. These tracks, like all Envy songs, are driving and sincere and remind me as to why I got into hardcore in the first place. I'm not even going to attempt to describe their music as no combination of words would do it justice.
